  • Green Square Accord

    Housing Association providing general needs & supported housing to a wide variety of client groups. Also training & employment initiatives, domestic violence hostels (Birmingham), support & empowerment for resident & community groups. Self - build & co-operative housing. We also offer, in addition to rented units, shared ownership and outright sale units to via bchs, part of the Accord group. We also offer services to residents and tenants groups. Fry Housing Trust (part of the Accord Group) is a supported housing project for offenders and those at risk of offending. Accord Housing runs Be Well Community Offer, a social prescription service for people living within Tipton, Princess End and Great Bridge. The service is free of charge and can be accessed by anyone over the age of 65 who has a need for community based support. Be Well covers a variety of areas including supporting access to; • Social opportunities • Carer support • Home Adaptations/ Telecare • Plan for hospital discharge • Meals/ nutritional support • Falls prevention / walk confidence • Information/ advise on specific health conditions • Befriending Ultimately Be Well aims to reduce the need for unnecessary hospital admissions and social care therefore our service will work with individuals to achieve this.     SAFS provide a range of quality care, support services and opportunities to enable South Asian children, young people and adults with disabilities, life limiting or life threatening conditions, and their families, to enhance their quality of life.

  • Sikh Society

    To promote any charitable purpose for the Sikh community including:- the advancement of the Sikh religion, and of education, the relief of poverty and sickness. The provision of facilities for the recreation and other leisure-time occupation in the interest of social welfare and with the object of improving the conditions of life of the Sikh community. To facilitate different organisations to interact with each other to foster effective dissemination of Sikhism.

  • Somali Disability & Elderly Support Group

    The Somali Disability & Elderly Support Group (SODES) is a registered charity based in Small Heath, Birmingham and provides advice, information and practical support and campaign for improved service to the Somali community in the West Midlands. Advice and information service on wide range of issues including employment opportunities, social care and health, welfare benefit, mental health and pension rights. We aim to support refugees, disabled children and elderly people and their families who are in need of assistance in order to take control of their daily living conditions. Interpreting/translation, an informal mentoring, advocacy, support service and information relating to disability issues. Children educational activities such as homework clubs, adult education (ESOL) and youth leisure activities. Monthly health awareness and workshops for Carers.

  • POhWER Advocacy

    POhWER has worked in Sandwell since 2006. Last year we provided advocacy support to 277 Sandwell residents. Our services include: NHS Complaints Advocacy for people who wish to make a complaint about treatment provided under the NHS Independent Mental Capacity Advocacy (IMCA), including Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DoLS) and Relevant Person's Paid Representative (RPPR) service is a statutory advocacy service to support vulnerable people who lack capacity and need to make important decisions but have no representatives as defined under the Mental Capacity Act 2005. Independent Mental Health Advocacy (IMHA). Anyone who is detained in a secure Mental Health setting in Sandwell is entitled to access support from an IMHA. This contract also provides an issue based advocacy service for informal inpatients of Sandwell (Hallam St) Hospital via drop ins. Community Advocacy for any person in Sandwell receiving a care/welfare services who has age-related needs, disabilities or prescribed physical or mental health conditions. Care Act Advocacy whereby Local Authority social care teams (and designated organisations) can make a referral to our service for you using the referral form. Volunteering in Sandwell.   • Friends of Dartmouth Park

    The friends of Dartmouth Park has been formed to closely liaise with SMBC to manage the regeneration and future maintenance of the Park so that it meets the needs of all sectors of the community in terms of providing a healthy, safe environment for promoting leisure, recreational and environmental activities that will enrich the lives of the community in this deprived area.

  • Reaching Out (Sandwell) CIO

    The relief of poverty of homeless persons in Sandwell, principally in the area of Wednesbury, who are in conditions of need, hardship and distress, in particular but not exclusively by: a) the provision of food, other nourishment, clothing and other items; b) the provision of administration services where required; c) the provision of advice regarding accessing accommodation; d) the provision of financial assistance; e) providing funds raised from a charity shop, which sells wholly donated goods, for the purposes of the charity

  • The Macular Society Sandwell Group

    The group offers support and help in understanding macular disease and coming to terms with sight loss. This can include sharing information about treatments, other services and staying independent. The group is open to anyone with a macular condition, their family and friends. The Macular Society is the national charity for anyone affected by central vision loss. It provides free information and support to improve lives. They also fund research to overcome macular disease.

  • Best Choice Befriending Services

    To support social inclusion and advocacy services for the wider public benefit, by working with people from BAME Communities based in the West midlands to promote their culture needs, provide social support services and activities in order to improve their wellbeing and conditions of life.

  • Tipton Community Action Group (Boscobel Clean Up)

    To advance skills in the area or education and learning among the residents of Tipton and the surrounding areas. To provide or assist in the provision of facilities for the training and development of Tipton residents and surrounding areas who have need of such facilities by reason of their youth, age, disability, poverty or social and economic circumstances. To provide information, advice and guidance to enable the residents to maximize their potential and improve their conditions of life, thus participating more socially. To relieve poverty, sickness, disability amoung the inhabitants of Tipton and surrounding areas.
