    West Midlands Lupus Group exists to help all those who have Lupus and its allied illnesses. Advice and information on all aspects of Lupus available. Open meetings are held with medical speakers. A monthly Drop-In Clinic is held at Russells Hall Hospital, Dudley. Monthly get-togethers are held in various areas. Social/fund raising events are held throughout the year. Membership (£10 per year, £15 for 2 persons at same address) includes 3 copies per year of the national LUPUS UK magazine and 3 copies per year of the West Midlands newsletter.     We promote healthier lifestyles whilst informing people in a non-judgemental way about the harmful effects that drugs, tobacco, alcohol and gambling have on individuals and society. We deliver our messages in several ways including: Health event stands: We provide an interactive stand which people can come and visit, look at the information, chat to the team and have a go at some of the activities. We have lots of visual aids that complement the healthier lifestyles message. Community health information displays: A free loan service for health information displays. These feature national and international health awareness days including No Smoking Day, Alcohol Awareness Week, Dry January and many more. Educational programmes: These include the ‘Health Champions’ a mentoring scheme in which groups are assisted in planning and delivering their own health campaigns. We also provide PSHE lessons and assemblies for primary schools, secondary schools and colleges. We can provide talks and workshops based around these topics to adult groups also. Our website has several resources, including leaflets that the public can download for use. For people interested in history and temperance, we have an archivist who can help with enquires, and a selection of archives that can be viewed upon arrangement.

    WISE Ability are a non-for profit organisation delivering a variety of ESF and Government funded contracts which assist with employability and training for SMEs. We provide our services in the Black Country and Staffordshire, serving SMEs with fully funded and accredited qualifications for their staff. These qualifications have been chosen as some of the most essential tools for staff in these businesses and can improve knowledge and skill set. All our services are delivered online and assessed by our team upon completion, meaning a smoother service provided to both business and learner. Our services are completely free to utilise. WISE Ability are also supporting staff that are currently working under notice of redundancy or recently made redundant with gaining qualifications and assistance in returning to employment with the support of our Employment Engagement team. We understand the impact that redundancy has on people and are here to ensure that they have the support to move beyond this in a positive way with successful outcomes.
