White Ribbon Association

We promote healthier lifestyles whilst informing people in a non-judgemental way about the harmful effects that drugs, tobacco, alcohol and gambling have on individuals and society. We deliver our messages in several ways including:

Health event stands: We provide an interactive stand which people can come and visit, look at the information, chat to the team and have a go at some of the activities. We have lots of visual aids that complement the healthier lifestyles message.

Community health information displays: A free loan service for health information displays. These feature national and international health awareness days including No Smoking Day, Alcohol Awareness Week, Dry January and many more.

Educational programmes: These include the ‘Health Champions’ a mentoring scheme in which groups are assisted in planning and delivering their own health campaigns. We also provide PSHE lessons and assemblies for primary schools, secondary schools and colleges.

We can provide talks and workshops based around these topics to adult groups also. Our website has several resources, including leaflets that the public can download for use.

For people interested in history and temperance, we have an archivist who can help with enquires, and a selection of archives that can be viewed upon arrangement.
